Alexander Wainwright is a board-certified OB/GYN specializing in comprehensive women’s health. A Memorial-area native, he attended Vanderbilt University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, then earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He completed his residency at the same institution, later serving as a faculty member in the OBGYN department at McGovern Medical School before co-founding LUNA OBGYN with Dr. Jonathan Faro in 2021.

In addition to his core focus on obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Wainwright has an interest in managing recurrent and challenging bladder and vaginal infections. He offers new and emerging therapies that address active infections, while placing special emphasis on preventative strategies to reduce the likelihood of recurrence—an approach that sets him apart from the typical reactive model of treating infections only when they arise.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Wainwright enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with his wife, Angelica, and their dogs, Ellie & Emma.
